The First Year at York online community is monitored by the New Student Transition team from the Centre for Student Community & Leadership Development’s (SCLD) along with upper-year student leaders. In this space, you’ll find yourself among all your fellow first year students as you begin your journeys at York University.

This community is a place where new students can connect with peer leaders to find the latest information about:
• how to enrol into courses
• what services are available to them
• information about Orientation
• upcoming events and free giveaways

First Year at York is how you get connected to the university and your future classmates before classes begin and get answers to the questions you may have. It’s an online community for students, run by students.

The mission of the Sport Management Council at York University is to serve as the collective voice of Sport Management students enrolled within the Sport Management Degree program (BSM) while enhancing their academic and professional development. Through networking opportunities, hands-on experience, skill development, and community engagement, the Council aims to enrich the student experience beyond the classroom. In alignment and partnership with the Sport Management Degree Program and its staff, the Council bridges academic learning with real-world application to prepare students for leadership roles and long-term success while seeking to inspire, support, and prepare students for successful careers in the sport and entertainment industry.
