Mission
Our mission is to advance the role and recognition of women and other underrepresented groups in
the clean energy sector. We believe that this mission is more critical than ever as we strive for a just
energy transition. We are committed to empowering women globally, ensuring they receive the
recognition, support, and opportunities they deserve. As York University’s WiRE Chapter, we believe
WiRE provides an environment in which students can thrive academically, while also maintaining a
means of diversity in which they can share their frame of mind with their peers. The assets that WiRE
possesses will allow them to immerse themselves in all of the possibilities that it puts forward.
Moreover, this organization is filled with visionary students who will question and change the world,
with acclaimed mentors guiding them in each endeavor. This environment is exactly what she hoped
to find in WiRE that presents more than just a name brand, but an experience.
