Parent & Family Orientation: Supporting Your Student on Move-In Day

Starting university is a big milestone — not just for students, but for families too. Our Parent and Family Orientation Session is designed to help ease the transition for everyone during Move-In Day and give you a taste of all York has to offer.

This event is for ALL students and families, not just those living in residence

This event includes: 
- A live performance by Vanier College Productions
- An information session with the Vice Provost of Students, the Manager of Student Life, Financial Services, and Student Accessibility Services
- A  club fair
- An opportunity to meet campus partners and sponsors
- Snacks and light refreshments

Why Attend: 
- Learn how York supports your student throughout their transition 
- Meet York partners like Community Safety, Residence Life, York International, Black Excellence, Athletics and Recreation and more
- Connect with other parents and families going through the same experience 
- Get practical advice to help your student adjust to life on campus

- Families are encouraged to attend with their first-year student 
- Registration is recommended to receive key updates and session materials
