Mission The Black Women In Law Association (BWLA) at York University aims to uplift and empower Black women pursuing law careers and other related legal fields. By fostering a supportive community, BWLA provides tools for holistic growth through mentorship, networking, and resources. Our goal is to propel Black women into leadership roles, advocacy, and mentorship positions within the legal profession, while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Membership BenefitsAs a member of BWLA at York University, you will gain access to a network of aspiring future Black women in law and and professional law related development workshops (such as LSAT prep). Membership with BWLA also offers leadership opportunities, resources specifically for pre-law students, and a supportive community that prioritizes wellness, advocacy, representation and a supportive community on the journey to law school
