Mission
The Astronomy Club at York University is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of students united by their passion for the cosmos. We aim to inspire and engage both professional and amateur astronomers through interactive and educational experiences. Our mission is to celebrate the wonders of astronomy, promote scientific understanding, and enhance the appreciation of space through diverse events and collaborations made for all members of York University.

Membership Benefits
The Astronomy Club is open to all members of the York University community and offers a variety of fun and interactive ways for professional and amateur astronomy enthusiasts alike, to celebrate a common interest in the cosmos. Astronomy is a science that has helped in shaping the human culture over the ages and has influenced our imagination and knowledge of the cosmos throughout history. We thoroughly encourage the distribution of astronomical resources and the education of astronomy to the general public. We program events related to space from Prof Parade with physics and astronomy professors joining us and giving us talks about their research and career journey to where they are now so us students can get motivated but also find an opportunity to work with professors in research. We held so many events last year from space movie nights to painting and crafting night and collaboration with the Alan I Carswell Observatory for an observatory tour - both entertaining and educational events. This club is open to all students of any major or faculty. Moroever, joining this club allows students to meet and connect with other astronomy enthusiasts, which can lead to collaborations, friendships, and the sharing of knowledge and experiences. ACYU engages in public outreach and education, providing members with opportunities to participate in or help organize educational events for all York students/staff/faculty or the general public.
